סוזן אדל תנדבת במחלקה לאיתור קרובים וחידוש קשרי משפחה בשיתוף עם הצלב האדום הבינלאומי. כחלק מתפקידה היא עוזרת באיחוד משפחות, בעיקר ניצולי שואה. בכנס הבינלאומי של האירגון הבינלאומי לעמותות לגניאולגיה יהודית שנערכה בוורשה באוגוסט 2018, סוזן קיבלה אות הקרה על העבודה החשובה שהיא עושה.
בהרצאתה, סוזן אדל תדגים איך עובדים במטרה לאחד משפחות או לחפש אינפורמציה על בני משפחה, שהקשר עמם אבד. יש אפשרות להשתמש בשיטות ואתרים אלה גם בחיפוש גנאלוגי. היא תיתן דוגמאות של סיפורי הצלחה ושיטת העבודה.
Reuniting Families -The lecture will be in Hebrew
Susan Edel volunteers in the Tracing and Restoring Family Links Department of Magen David Adom in cooperation with the International Red Cross, helping to reunite families where contact has been lost, mainly working with Holocaust survivors. At the IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy held in Warsaw in August, 2018, Susan was saluted for her important work.
In her lecture, Susan Edel will demonstrate the methods used to reunite families or to find out information about family members with whom all contact has been lost, using methods and databases which can also be used in genealogy. She will give examples of success stories that have been achieved and how the work is accomplished.
