In advance of the Annual General Meeting – June 2026
Dear Members,
We at IGRA, the Israel Genealogy Research Association, are proud of our dedicated team of volunteers, leaders, and members—and of our activities and programs. We encourage and invite you to submit your candidacy for positions within the association ahead of the elections to be held at the Annual General Meeting on June 2026.
All candidates must be registered members of IGRA.
Submitting Candidacy If you are interested in filling one of the roles listed below, please submit your candidacy by April 3, 2026, along with a short biography and statement of intent (up to 150 words).
You may submit your candidacy in one of two ways:

Positions Open for Election This Year:
1. President Term of Office: Two years. Eligible for reelection for one additional term.
– Responsibilities:
- Leading the association in achieving its goals and fulfilling its responsibilities as agreed upon in the annual meetings.
- Representing IGRA at conferences and forums.
- Delegating responsibilities and coordinating all IGRA activities.
- Encouraging new ideas and directions.
- Preparing the IGRA Annual Report.
- And more.
2. Secretary Term of Office: Two years. Eligible for reelection for one additional term.
– Responsibilities:
- Preparing the agenda for Board and Executive Council meetings.
- Recording and managing minutes and distributing them to Board members, in consultation with the President.
3. Executive Council Members (2 positions) Term of Office: Two years. Eligible for reelection without limitation.
– Responsibilities
- Participation in Executive Council and Board meetings.
- Discussion and voting on matters requiring immediate attention.
- Bringing recommendations before the Board.
4. Board Members at Large (2 positions) Term of Office: Two years. Eligible for reelection without limitation.
– Responsibilities:
- The Board is responsible for managing all aspects of IGRA, including:
- Management of the website, social media, and databases.
- Organizing events and meetings.
- Publications.
- Membership management.
- Webinars.
- Financial matters.
- Participation in Board meetings.
5. Audit Committee Member
– Responsibilities:
- The Audit Committee shall examine the association’s financial and economic affairs and its accounting records. It is responsible for ensuring that the association's activities align with its objectives, bylaws, and the decisions of the General Assembly.
- The committee presents its recommendations regarding the approval of financial statements to the General Assembly.

Our activists and board members are in high demand to provide lectures to various organizations and external bodies such as Yad Vashem and the National Library staff.
