As we prepare for the High Holy Days, I extend a heartfelt “Shana Tova” to all our members and the wider community. This is a time of renewal and reflection, and there is no better way to honor our past and look to the future than through the profound work of genealogy. By researching our family’s history, we connect with the stories of those who came before us, strengthening our identity and ensuring their legacies are never forgotten.
The past year has been one of tremendous growth and aspiration for the Israel Genealogy Research Association. We are proud to have published a series of significant database releases, making more than 170,000 new records available to the public. We have increase the amount of in person lectures in Ra’anana & Givatayim, as well as the webinar series, generating more than 30 recordings that are being posted on the website for all to enjoy.
We rely on the passion and dedication of volunteers to make these projects a reality. We are seeking volunteers to help with everything from transcribing and proofreading new databases to assisting with our webinars and managing our social media. Your support and involvement are crucial to grow and keep our mission of helping people around the world discover their Israel & Jewish roots.
On behalf of my own, the board and all our volunteers, I wish you a L’Shana Tova U’Metukah. May this year bring the safe return of the hostages and an end to the war, alongside many genealogy success and a good and sweet year for all.
