rosies rimonAs the New Year approaches we want to thank all of you for your support, your interest and your desire to help us continue to make records available reflecting life in Israel from the Ottoman Era through the present.

IGRA has new projects on the horizon as we join the Israel State Archives in their efforts to digitize their collections. We are in need of many additional volunteers. Those able to work with Excel in either Hebrew or English are encouraged to join our volunteer ranks! Send us a note to: [email protected].

We will be recognizing and showing our appreciation to those who have volunteered in the past year at our Heshvan Event – 26 November 2014, Beit Hatfutsot – part of our programming for the International Jewish Genealogy Month.  In addition to the volunteers receiving certificates two will receive the Mathilde Tagger Award of Recognition for Volunteering with the IGRA Databases.  This year we will also be recognizing an Archive in Israel and a person who has made a clear mark in genealogy in Israel this year.  The program also includes the film “I Am Bialik” and a discussion with Aviv Talmor. All are welcome! (25 NIS IGRA members, 50 NIS guests)

MyHeritage has moved the date of documenting the Holon cemetery to 16 November 2014. A separate notice will be sent with complete information. We hope many will come and join in this important effort.

We want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a year of fulfilling family discoveries and connections.
