The IAJGS recently announced that the website for the 35th International Conference on Jewish Genealogy to be held in Jerusalem, 6-10 July 2015 is live. Registration is currently open for those living outside of Israel and an announcement will soon be made when registration opens for Israeli residents as well.

The Call for Papers can be found in the Speakers tab. Proposals must be submitted through the website and the deadline for submissions is 7 December 2014.

This Conference has many unique aspects. A special pre-Conference weekend program (“Shabbaton”) has been developed allowing participants to experience the Israeli preparation for Shabbat, a walking tour, museum tour and a Scholar-in-Residence alongside traditional Shabbat observance components. Following the Shabbaton, on 5 July 2015, will be “Exploration Sunday” with opportunities to choose from for research and touring.

Details will be available soon about how to prepare for your visit to the various Archives.

Plan now to have a Family Reunion! Ideas for organizing and planning will be available on the website.

The Conference venue is the Ramada Hotel at the entrance to the city, familiar to all who attended the 2004 Conference in Jerusalem. The hotel has two wings – the Royal (3 stars) and the Ramada (4 stars). The light rail now runs close by either towards Mt. Herzl/Yad VaShem or towards Downtown/Old City.

We look forward to seeing you – THIS YEAR IN JERUSALEM!
