Today is the holiday of Tu B’Shvat where we celebrate trees…. and what better holiday could there be for genealogists? IGRA is bringing you additional databases today to help you grow your family trees. Good luck!

The databases we are releasing today can be previewed here. There are four databases in this update. Two are new to our collection and two are updates.

Voters’ List Knesset Israel, Tel Aviv – 1936 (letters Alef – Daled): (images) This is the first section of this Voters’ List. The information you may find includes the address, locality, age, gender, family name, first name, name of father, comment. The database is in Hebrew.

Immigrants Listed in the Aliyah Department, Haifa – 1943: (images) In addition to the name of the person you may find the locality, country of origin, an additional surname, date of immigration, age. The database is in Hebrew.

Operation on Eagles Wings – October, 1949: (no images) We are adding over 3,500 names to this unique database. The name and an ID number are included. Additional information may be available by following the link to the website of the JDC on each detail page. The names appear in English.

Telephone Directory, 1963 (letters G – H): (images) We continue to present the entries in the 1963 Telephone Directory in English. The information you may be able to see includes the phone number, address, locality (city), occupation and comments. Not all entries have identical information available.

We thank all of our dedicated volunteers without whom we could not continue to bring new searchable records to you. We are looking for people to join this volunteer team especially to work with the records in English. Knowledge of Excel is necessary. Please write to us at [email protected] and we will get back to you!

Happy Tu B’Shvat – may you add many new “leaves” to your family tree and see it continue to grow with new family details.
